Work Experience forms an integral part of our training programmes and is critical to ensuring a seamless transition into the world of work. Accordingly, each trainee is required to complete a four-week (160 hour) attachment to an organization while pursuing his/her programme of study. Through this mechanism, trainees will be exposed to industry best practices, gain useful insight into general workplace requirements and employer expectations of employees, as well as develop an appreciation and understanding of the requisites of a professional workforce.
Participation in this programme is a prerequisite for certification. Trainees will be evaluated by their employers, as well as given an opportunity to evaluate the firms to which they have been assigned. To continue their career guidance while on work experience, each trainee will be assigned a career development officer. This officer will monitor the trainee's work and progress through visits to the firm, and by speaking with the trainee's supervisors. Should trainees be faced with particular concerns or difficulties in the performance of their training duties, they are required to inform the officer.
