The unit comprises six persons:
Manager
Senior secretary/administrative assistant
Co-ordinator- programme planning and implementation,
Co-ordinator- research, monitoring and evaluation,
Co-ordinator- career resources
Production Assistant.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
- To promote career development and lifelong learning through public awareness programmes and policy development guidelines.
- To develop career guidance resource materials on available careers/occupations; training and employment opportunities; and the demands of occupations and the world of work, for use by professionals and non-professional in the formal and non-formal TVET sectors.
- To make career guidance information available nationally and to furnish any assistance as may be required for interpreting and applying the information.
- To develop and upgrade the knowledge, attitude and skills of career guidance counsellors/teachers, instructors, programme planners, work experience coordinators and other categories of personnel involved in the preparation, delivery and dissemination of PROGIS PRODUCTS.
- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with agencies, entities and individuals in the public and private sectors at the local, regional and international levels in relations to keeping abreast with changes in the labour market.
- To establish and maintain adequate organizational arrangements for research and evaluation; information management, administration and related support services with relevant entities that impact on the work of the Unit.
