The HEART Trust is involved in the development of Vocational and Technical skills training programmes for supporting the training requirements of the workplace and community. It also provides career guidance for all Jamaicans and has a comprehensive job placement and assessment and certification mandate.
We offer training to all members of the Jamaican labour force and advice to all Jamaicans.
We offer persons level 1-5 in the National Vocational Qualifications-Jamaica. To find out more click here. You also offer certificates that indicate you have completed official short courses or seminars.
Some of our higher level courses will require trainees to have qualifications in certain areas. However, many of our Level 1 programmes simply require trainees to pass an entrance test if they do not have any qualifications.
We are a Technical and Vocational training organization and use a model called 'Competency Based Training'. This means that our training is mostly practical and involves trainees demonstrating that they have the skills via applying lessons learnt in real workplace scenarios.
You can apply for job placement services by visiting any of our regional offices. You may also receive career counseling and other development techniques that will help you to land the job that you desire. You may sign up for this at your nearest regional office.
We offer job placement services to interested persons. This however is dependent on available positions . Whether or not these firms will employ you is not guaranteed. We will however provide an opportunity for you to connect with persons who are hiring.

Yes you may. Only our condition is that the distance does not affect your training schedule or ability to participate in the institution's initiatives.
Yes you do, all our trainees are required to complete at least 160 hours of industry-based work experience. This is important to ensure that you are well rounded after training.
The contribution is to be made by employers who make monthly payment of emoluments to employees of $14,444 or more. Such eligible employers contribute to the HEART Fund each month a sum equivalent to 3% per cent of the total amount of the monthly emoluments paid to employees.
Contributions are due by the 14th of each month for the month preceding. For example, the contribution for the month of June is due by July 14th.
The Revenue Services Department located at 10 Hope Road is responsible for monitoring contributor compliance with the collection of these funds in accordance with the HEART Act. Monthly contributions can be made at any of the Inland Revenue department 28 collectorates island-wide.
